Outcomes
The camp was an overall success. I thought helping the different athletes throughout the camp was a great time and I made sure the athletes had fun as well. It was fun to joke around with the different players and help build their confidence along with building my own.
After the camp, I became more comfortable with my communication and leadership skills because I had to show the athletes that I knew what I was talking about and throughout the camp it built my confidence and I was able to help them out.
Lessons Learned
I think the biggest thing that I got out of this project was to not be nervous when speaking in front of larger groups and to have that confidence so that people could trust what I was saying. As I was leading the different drills, I tried to have fun and give the athletes what they came to the camp for which was to learn more about the game. By having fun with it and believing in myself, it allowed the athletes to have fun as well and they took me serious because I was confident in myself.
